This Sea Puzzle has four items which are easily recognised by young children interested in sea life - a whale, an octopus, a starfish and a fish. Behind each lift-out piece the wood is coloured the same as the main colour of the item eg. behind the yellow starfish the wood is coloured yellow. This encourages your child to compare the piece with the board and see that they are the same colour also giving the opportunity to learn the names of the colours. With the colour and the cut out shape to guide them, your child will learn to match up the pieces to the correct space and learn to manipulate the piece until it fits. This encourages dexterity and spatial awareness - important skills to learn when you are growing up.
